Transport conditions

Celldömölk, as the seat of the district, is located along the main road 834, which runs East-West for road traffic. There is no north-south highway near the city. Reaching the single-digit main road 8 towards Jánosháza (16 km), the two-digit main road 84 towards Sárvár is the shortest (17 km). To reach the expressway network, you have to travel 33 km on a main road.

The accessibility of Jánosháza can be considered better compared to Celldömölk. Located in the East-West direction of Highway 8, and in the North-West-South-East direction it is adjacent to the junction of Highway 84.

Rail transport

In terms of rail transport, Celldömölk – similarly to Sárvár – is located on timetable line 20 connecting Szombathely with Székesfehérvár, and from there with direct onward travel to Budapest, which makes rail passenger and freight transport directly accessible from East to West. From the point of view of rail transport and freight transport, railway main line 10 in the direction of Győr is a good additional feature.

Jánosháza is located on timetable line 25, which creates a natural railway connection with Zala County. Its advantage is that this railway line is a direct link to Slovenia.

To reach both towns of the district, it takes about 50 minutes by road from Szombathely, the county seat of Vas County. Rail passenger transport takes 31-45 minutes between Celldömölk-Szombathely, and a little more than an hour between Jánosháza-Szombathely, with a change in Boba.
